Kim was born in Alaska, moved all around the U.S. in a Coast Guard family, and currently resides in Brooklyn.

When not at her studio in Greenpoint, Kim is probably designing textiles, playing surf guitar in her band Puppies, dancing all night long, biking around the city, finding the best beach ever, or sailing around New York Harbor.

Kim has been recognized by American Illustration 28, 29, 30, 31, and 32, Society of Illustrators 55 and 56, the Clocktower Gallery, MoMA, Art International Radio, and the School of Visual Arts. She graduated in 2009 from the School of Visual Arts.
