Desert Island Window Display!
- illustration
Rob Corradetti (Killer Acid) and I collaborated on the Desert Island 2011 Christmas Window Display.
Both being printmakers with lots of extra paper lying around, we wanted to find a way to incorporate original work into the piece, while creating something new. Misprints, separation tests, scraps, extra proofs, etc. were given a fresh new use, collaged and painted together in order to create the surface of the robots.
Christmas lights are an integral part of some of the robots, lighting them from the inside and out. Large ornaments, fake snow, and other Christmas tinsel were also included.
Thanks to Gabe at Desert Island for letting us make his window a little weirder, and be sure to visit the bookstore at 580 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY.
